Prepare for Your Swim Lesson at the Jewish Community Centre

Thank you for booking your first lesson with us! To help you prepare for a smooth experience, please read through this guide.


You must be a member, a registered guest of a member, or a registered Carmel School student/parent to enter the club. The security guards reserve the right to deny entry.


Class Confirmation

After booking your lesson online, you will receive an automated confirmation email.

  • If you don’t see it, check your junk mail folder.

  • Still missing it? Your booking may not have gone through. You can check your bookings by logging into the website or messaging us.


Your confirmation email will include:

  • What you booked

  • Your coach’s name

  • Date and time of the lesson

  • Location


Once booked, you are subject to our Terms & Conditions, so please ensure your booking is correct.


The Pool

  • Entry to the pool is via the changing rooms.

  • It is a heated indoor pool

    • Rash guards and sun screen is not needed

    • Lessons will go ahead except for in Red Rain or T8 - unless otherwise contacted (please make sure you have provided you phone number)

    • Children will still need thermal wear during cooler months



Changing Rooms

  • Male and Female changing rooms are available.


  • Lockers are for storing items - you must ask the lifeguard on pool deck for a locker key.


Meet Your Coach



Basic Equipment for Swimmers


Flip-Flops:

  • Outdoor shoes are not allowed poolside.

  • Make sure your flip-flops are clean and dedicated for the pool.

  • Bring a bag to store them!


Swimsuit:


Goggles:

  • Essential for all levels except Baby & Toddler and Kids Beginners classes.

  • Ensure they fit well—check this guide for help.





Swim Cap:

  • Provided for regular students on the first lesson (except Baby & Toddler).

  • Bring it for subsequent lessons to keep hair out of your face and protect against pool chemicals.


Kick Board:

  • Required for all levels except Baby & Toddler and Kids Beginners.

  • If purchasing your own, choose a smaller, firmer board that suits the student's size.
